Phil Woolas


Phil was Member of Parliament for Oldham East and Saddleworth from 1997 to 2010 and served as a Minister in the Governments of both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Among other roles, he served as Minister for Local Government, Minister for Environment and Climate Change and Minister for Immigration. Prior to entering Parliament, Phil was a television producer for BBC Newsnight and Channel 4 News and worked as Director of Communications for the GMB trade union. He has extensive experience in local government, procurement, environmental policy, infrastructure and housing finance and early payment and other financial products. 


Phil Woolas is a joint founder of Wellington Street Partners Limited and works as full time Director of UK Business. Phil is also the chair of the ACE Centre, a charity which provides communication technology for severely disabled people.
